Dear Colleagues,The IFBA recently collected feedback from our network of certified professionals in Southeast Asia to assess the program’s impact in the region. Many respondents said the IFBA’s certification program is recognized internationally as a high standard of competency in managing biological risks and was a pathway to enhanced responsibilities at their workplace. The IFBA is pleased to announce the recent publication of the new ISO 35001: Biorisk management for laboratories and other related organizations.
This document defines a process to identify, assess, control, and monitor the risks associated with hazardous biological materials.
This document is applicable to any laboratory or other organization that works with, stores, transports, and/or disposes of hazardous biological materials. This document is intended to complement existing International Standards for laboratories.
We would like to thank members of Technical Committee 212 and stakeholders from around the world who provided valuable guidance and input into the development of this important standard.
